Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen has said Nigeria’s semifinal clash at the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) against host nation Morocco will be a tough contest.
Speaking after the Super Eagles’ 2-0 victory over Algeria on Saturday, Osimhen noted that the team was taking the tournament one match at a time, stressing that while the challenge ahead would not be easy, he trusted the players to rise to the occasion.
“Hopefully, one game at a time. It is not going to be easy for us, but I believe in this squad, and I believe in the players.”
The Napoli forward, who has scored three goals so far in the ongoing Africa Cup of Nations, is expected to play a key role when Nigeria face Morocco on Wednesday as he looks to add to his tally.

Osimhen also assured Nigerian fans of the team’s determination to push for the title, thanking supporters at home and abroad for their backing.
He acknowledged that the win over Algeria was hard-fought but said the result had boosted the team’s confidence.
According to him, the Super Eagles intend to build on the momentum from the quarter-final victory, aiming to reach the final and lift the AFCON trophy.
