Morocco to get €650 Million AfDB loan for 2030 World Cup

The African Development Bank (AfDB) intends to lend Morocco 650 million euros to enhance transportation infrastructure in preparation for the 2030 World Cup, the MAP state news agency reported on Thursday.

Akinwumi Adesina, the Bank’s president, said the financing for Morocco’s rail and airport infrastructure development for the World Cup will be presented to the board for approval.

Morocco will co-host the 2030 World Cup alongside Spain and Portugal, making it the second African nation to hold the tournament, following South Africa in 2010.
