Napoli Beat Juventus to Extend Serie A Title Lead

Napoli took another significant step in their Serie A title pursuit with a 2-1 win over Juventus on Saturday, moving six points clear at the top.

Juventus, who had taken the lead just before halftime through Randal Kolo Muani’s debut goal, were undone by a spirited second-half performance from Napoli. Andre-Frank Zambo Anguissa’s header and Romelu Lukaku’s penalty in the 69th minute completed the turnaround for the hosts.

The victory, their seventh consecutive win, reinforced Napoli’s dominance as they target their second Scudetto in three seasons. In contrast, Juventus, despite a strong start to the season, fell to their first league defeat, leaving them 16 points behind Napoli in fifth.

Kolo Muani’s strike in the 43rd minute had given Juve a deserved lead after a well-placed finish from close range, capitalising on a defensive misjudgment. However, Napoli responded after the break with Anguissa scoring the equaliser following a well-delivered cross from Matteo Politano.

The decisive moment came when Lukaku converted a penalty after Scott McTominay was fouled by Manuel Locatelli in the box, securing all three points for Napoli.

In other Serie A action, Atalanta stayed third, despite a 2-1 victory over Como, thanks to Mateo Retegui’s brace. The win helped Atalanta maintain their seven-point gap from Napoli as they now shift focus to their upcoming Champions League match against Barcelona.
