Ali Fage has assumed office as the 27th Commissioner of Police for the Katsina State Command, following his deployment by the Inspector-General of Police, Tunji Disu.
The development was disclosed in a statement issued on Monday by the command’s spokesperson, DSP Abubakar Sadiq.
According to the statement, Fage, a native of the Fage Local Government Area of Kano State, joined the Nigeria Police Force as a Cadet Assistant Superintendent of Police in June 1994. He holds a degree in Political Science from Bayero University, Kano.

The statement noted that he brings over three decades of policing experience, having served in various operational, investigative and administrative roles across multiple states. His previous postings include positions as Divisional Police Officer in several divisions in Sokoto, Kaduna, Jigawa and Katsina states, as well as roles within monitoring units, criminal investigation departments and area commands.
He also served as Deputy Commandant at the Police College, Ikeja, Lagos, before his latest posting to Katsina.
Fage has pledged to prioritise peace and security in the state, stressing the need for collaboration with stakeholders and the adoption of innovative strategies to combat crime.
