Newcastle Rejects Liverpool’s Opening Isak Bid

Newcastle United have turned down Liverpool’s initial offer for striker Alexander Isak. The Magpies estimate the value of the Swedish forward at around £150 million, while Liverpool’s bid did not meet that valuation.

Although the exact amount of Liverpool’s offer has not been disclosed, reports suggest it is approximately £110m with additional add-ons.

Isak was omitted from the Newcastle roster for their pre-season tour in Asia as he seeks to investigate a potential transfer, despite the club having secured a place in this season’s Champions League.

The bid from Liverpool was submitted while Isak trains independently at his former club, Real Sociedad, amid ongoing speculation about his future.

The 25-year-old made a £60 million switch to Newcastle from La Liga side Real Sociedad in 2022.

Newcastle has insisted that he is not on the market this summer, but this has not stopped Liverpool from showing significant interest.

The Premier League champions reached out to Newcastle last month and have now made a formal bid.

It is unclear whether Liverpool will present an improved offer for Isak, but manager Arne Slot is eager to incorporate the striker into his squad before the new season begins.
