News Central Inaugurates Editorial Board

News Central, Nigeria’s foremost pan African news network, has unveiled its newly constituted Editorial Board, marking a significant commitment to enhancing journalistic standards, promoting balanced reporting, and amplifying African voices on the global stage.

The inauguration ceremony, held at News Central’s headquarters in Lagos on Monday, January 5, 2026, brought together media stakeholders, industry leaders, and policymakers to witness the official unveiling of the board. Some of the editorial board members include award-winning International journalist, Femi Oke, South-African entrepreneur and media executive, Given Mkhari, Executive Director of Enough is Enough Nigeria, Yemi Adamolekun and a Nigerian lawyer and policy strategist, Dr Sam Amadi. Others are Human Rights lawyer and activist, Chidi Odinkalu, Founder & Chairman of Proshare Limited, Olufemi Awoyemi and Editor-in-Chief & Managing Director of News Central Television, Kayode Akintemi.

In his keynote address, Kayode Akintemi, Managing Director of News Central, emphasised the board’s pivotal role in navigating Nigeria’s media landscape. “This Editorial Board represents our resolve to focus on depth, investigative journalism and amplifying the voice of the everyday person,” he stated. “In an era of misinformation, we are fortifying our editorial independence to deliver credible news that empowers Nigerians and shapes Africa’s narrative.”

The board’s mandate includes overseeing editorial policies, guiding content strategy, promoting investigative journalism, and ensuring adherence to the highest ethical standards. It will also spearhead initiatives like youth journalism training programs and partnerships with international media bodies to combat fake news.
