Niger State Governor, Mohammed Umaru Bago, has sworn in 30 commissioners, 25 elected local government chairmen and their deputies, alongside members of various boards and commissions, urging them to actively drive his administration’s New Niger agenda.
The inauguration ceremony held on Friday, December 12, 2025, at the Government House in Minna. Justice Maimuna Abubakar of High Court 6 administered the oath of office and allegiance on behalf of the Chief Judge of Niger State, Justice Halima Ibrahim Abdulmalik.
Governor Bago said the appointees were selected after careful consideration of their track records and expressed confidence in their capacity to deliver quality service to the people of the state. He called on them to apply lessons from past experiences to help build a sustainable, prosperous and inclusive Niger State.

Earlier, the Secretary to the State Government, Alhaji Abubakar Usman, charged the officials to demonstrate dedication and commitment in the discharge of their duties, noting that such qualities are crucial to the success of the New Niger agenda.
Usman also revealed that a retreat had been organised to properly align the appointees with the administration’s vision and clearly outline expectations.
The boards inaugurated include the Niger State Universal Basic Education Board, the Secondary Education Board and the Law Reform Commission.
Some of the newly sworn-in officials thanked the governor for the opportunity to serve and pledged their loyalty and commitment to the full implementation of the New Niger agenda.
