Nigeria’s Super Eagles secured a spot in the Africa Cup of Nations semi-finals following a decisive 2-0 victory over Algeria in their Saturday evening quarter-final clash.
After a goalless first half in Marrakesh, the Super Eagles found their breakthrough shortly after the interval when Victor Osimhen clinically opened the scoring, breaking the deadlock and shifting the momentum firmly in Nigeria’s favour.
The victory was all but sealed before the hour mark through a brilliant piece of teamwork.

Osimhen turned provider, carving open the Algerian defence to set up Akor Adams, who made no mistake in doubling the lead.
With the two-goal cushion, Nigeria managed the remainder of the game effectively to ensure their progression.
They are now set for a high-stakes encounter in the next round, where they will face the tournament hosts, Morocco, for a place in the final.
