Foreign Ministry spokesperson Kimiebi Ebienfa confirmed that a fifth flight carrying 305 returnees and two government officials arrived in Lagos from Johannesburg.
This final flight concluded a rapid evacuation effort organised in response to mounting safety concerns for foreign nationals.
The Nigerian government coordinated the flights after holding emergency talks with South African authorities regarding the safety of its diaspora.
Tensions escalated recently after Nigerian officials condemned targeted violence, including the deaths of at least two Nigerian nationals whom local security forces allegedly assaulted.
While Nigeria maintains strong bilateral ties with South Africa, Ebienfa emphasised that the country will not tolerate xenophobia, racial bias, or violence against its citizens.
The airlift successfully repatriated vulnerable families and workers who chose to flee the hostilities and rebuild their lives back home.
