The Nigerian government has introduced a new consumer credit product called “Fly Now, Pay Later” to help Nigerians pay for domestic air travel over time.

The scheme was announced on Tuesday by the Nigerian Consumer Credit Corporation (CREDICORP) in a post on its official X account.

According to CREDICORP, the programme will allow eligible customers to book local flights and repay the cost through structured financing instead of paying the full fare upfront.

“Through this initiative, eligible customers can book domestic flights today and repay the cost over time through structured financing, removing the upfront barrier that often delays important trips,” the statement read.

The agency said interested customers can apply by visiting visaro.ng to book flights to destinations within Nigeria.

“At CREDICORP, we remain committed to expanding responsible consumer credit and enabling Nigerians live better now, including flying locally. Fly now. Pay later. Opportunity shouldn’t wait,” the statement added.

The new product is part of the agency’s efforts to expand financial inclusion and improve access to services through consumer credit.

The launch comes as domestic airfares in Nigeria continue to rise. During the 2025 Christmas travel period, one-way tickets on some routes increased by about 150 per cent, with fares exceeding ₦300,000.

Airlines have linked the high ticket prices to rising aviation fuel costs, foreign exchange challenges and other operational expenses.
