Nigeria’s Federal Government has approved the upward review of the contract cost for the construction of the Sokoto-Tambuwal-Jega-Makera Road by eight point three-nine billion naira.
The stretch which covers about a hundred and eighty-five kilometers was awarded to the China Railway Construction Company CRCC.
Nigeria’s Minister of Works and Housing spoke to newsmen saying the increase was approved by the Federal Executive Council following a change in the cost of construction caused by inflation between two thousand and twelve and two thousand and twenty-one.
He says that the construction of about eighty-five kilometers stretch of the road has been changed from rehabilitation to outright reconstruction following its state of disrepair.
