The Nigerian Army has said it neutralised three terrorists, arrested 20 suspects, and recovered weapons, ammunition, logistics, stolen crude, illicit drugs, rustled livestock, and other criminal assets during multi-theatre operations across the country in the last 24 hours.

This was revealed by the troop in a statement on Sunday.

In the Northeast and Northwest, troops said they killed two terrorists in Zamfara and repelled ISWAP/JAS elements in Borno, recovering an AK-47 rifle, a G3 rifle, a PKT machine gun with 70 rounds of 7.62x54mm ammunition, and assorted logistics.

“Additionally, troops intercepted 5 fabricated rifles from a suspected gunrunner in Kaduna, arrested logistics suppliers in Borno and Kogi and safely diffused an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) in Zamfara, preventing potential civilian casualties,” it added.

Across the North Central and Southern theatres, intelligence-led operations in Benue, Taraba, Abia, Cross River, Rivers, Delta, and Kogi states led to the recovery of one pump-action shotgun, a double-barrel gun, a Dane gun, a MAC-4 rifle, a locally fabricated pistol, ammunition, knives, communication devices, motorcycles, cash, and charms.

Several suspects linked to kidnapping, arms trafficking, drug peddling, and impersonating military personnel were apprehended.

In the Niger Delta, anti-oil theft operations uncovered about 45,000 litres of suspected stolen crude oil and 16 sacks of illegally refined petroleum products and dismantled two illegal refining sites, disrupting oil theft and economic sabotage networks.

The army also rescued kidnapped victims in Kogi State, recovered 58 rustled sheep in Sokoto, intercepted narcotics, and arrested suspected criminal collaborators.

The Nigerian Army said it remains committed to dismantling terrorist and criminal networks, recovering illicit weapons, protecting civilians, and securing national assets across the country.
