NiMet Forecasts Sunshine, Clouds Nationwide

The Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMet) has predicted a blend of sunshine and cloud cover across the country from Monday to Wednesday.

In its weather outlook released on Sunday in Abuja, the agency said the northern region would experience clear and sunny conditions throughout the forecast period.

NiMet stated that the central region would remain largely sunny, with occasional cloud cover expected over the three days.

The agency also forecast mostly sunny weather in the southern region, alongside scattered clouds. It warned of possible isolated thunderstorms with light rainfall later in the day across parts of Rivers, Bayelsa, Akwa Ibom, Cross River, Edo, Delta, Ondo, Lagos, Ogun, Oyo, Imo, Abia, and Osun states.

For Tuesday, NiMet expects sunny skies to persist in the north, while the central region will experience sunshine with a few cloud patches. The south will also see sunny conditions with cloud cover and chances of isolated thunderstorms.

Light rainfall may occur in parts of Abia, Edo, Ogun, Ondo, Delta, Lagos, Rivers, Akwa Ibom, Cross River and Bayelsa states during the afternoon or evening.

On Wednesday, the agency forecasts sunny and hazy conditions in parts of Jigawa, Yobe and Borno states, while the rest of the northern region remains sunny. It also predicts light rainfall later in the day across parts of Anambra, Oyo, Edo, Ogun, Ondo, Delta, Lagos, Rivers, Akwa Ibom, Cross River and Bayelsa states.

NiMet advised motorists to drive cautiously during rainfall and urged airline operators to obtain airport-specific weather reports for proper flight planning. It also encouraged residents to stay updated through regular weather bulletins from the agency.
