The Executive Secretary of the Nigerian Christian Pilgrims Commission, Bishop Stephen Adegbite, has hailed Nigeria’s First Lady, Oluremi Tinubu, as the “Deborah of our time”.

The Bishop made the remark while speaking to News Central during President Bola Tinubu’s visit to the United Kingdom (UK).

Bishop Adegbite expressed delight at Tinubu and the First Lady’s UK visit, describing it as a significant achievement that will remain etched in Nigerians’ memories for a long time.

“It’s been wonderful, and it’s something that I’ve been looking forward to seeing, and God has done it at a time when we have a great leader, a pragmatic, dynamic, wonderful and forward-looking leader in our great nation. And that is why we are happy to be here, and also for Her Excellency Senator Oluremi Tinubu, a wonderful woman, prayerful and of course, the Deborah of our time. For them to be in London at a time like this is no joke,” Bishop Adegbite said.

Another Nigerian residing in the UK, Anslem Onye, who spoke to News Central, expressed confidence that Tinubu would resolve the numerous challenges plaguing the West African country.

Onye, who wore a white T-shirt with Tinubu’s image, said he was certain the President has learnt invaluable lessons during his first tenure.

“The first tenure is like somebody being in a primary school, and I believe that he has learnt a lot and will end this saga. We are having a lot of problems, and I believe he’s going to do something about it,” said Onye.

Tinubu arrived UK for a state visit on Tuesday. His visit is the first in four decades that a Nigerian president will make to the UK.

While speaking during the State Banquet at Windsor Castle, he declared that Nigeria’s friendship with the UK will continue to grow. Nigeria shares long-standing ties with the UK, rooted in its history as a British colony before gaining independence in 1960.
