Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa, the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate in Ondo State’s ongoing gubernatorial election, is leading in 13 local government areas, following announcements by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) of Saturday’s governorship election results.
According to INEC, Aiyedatiwa with 301,113 votes, significantly ahead of his closest challenger, Agboola Ajayi of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), who has garnered 97,051 votes—a margin of 204,062 votes.
With results from three Local Government Areas (LGAs) still pending, final collation began at 12:35 am at the INEC office in Akure, the state capital. The Returning Officer, Prof. Olayemi Akinwunmi, Vice Chancellor of the Federal University of Lokoja, is overseeing the process.
