Kenya’s National Police Service (NPS) announced that over 500 people were arrested during nationwide protests on Monday.

NPS spokesperson Michael Muchiri stated that 567 arrests were made as “certain individuals remained determined to engage in acts of lawlessness that involved multiple criminal acts,” including looting and assaults on officers.
