Sharif, in a post shared on X on Sunday, described the explosion as a cowardly act of terrorism.

“I strongly condemn the heinous bomb explosion near Chaman Phatak, Quetta, which has resulted in the tragic loss of innocent lives and left many others injured. Such cowardly acts of terrorism cannot weaken the resolve of the people of Pakistan. We remain steadfast in our determination to eliminate terrorism in all its forms and manifestations,” he said.
“I express my heartfelt condolences to the families of the victims and pray for the swift recovery of the injured. The entire nation stands in solidarity with the people of Balochistan in this hour of grief.”The
Baloch Liberation Army has claimed responsibility for the attack.
“Baloch Liberation Army, targeted a train transporting personnel of the occupying forces from Quetta Cantt in a highly organized fidayee attack. The Baloch Liberation Army accepts full responsibility for this operation,” Jeeyand Baloch, spokesperson for the Baloch Liberation Army, said in a statement.
The Baloch Liberation Army is an armed separatist group based mainly in Pakistan’s Balochistan province. It says it is fighting for an independent Baloch state, separate from Pakistan.
The Pakistani government considers the separatist group a terrorist organisation, and it is also designated as a terrorist group by several countries, including the United States.
It has been linked to attacks on security forces, infrastructure, and Chinese-funded projects in Pakistan, particularly those connected to the China–Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC).
