The Al-Qassam Brigades, the military wing of Hamas, and Saraya Al-Quds, the armed faction of Islamic Jihad, released three Israeli captives on Saturday as part of the sixth phase of the ongoing prisoner exchange deal with Israel.
The captives—Alexander (Sasha) Turbanov, Sagui Dekel-Chen, and Yair Horn—were handed over to the International Red Cross Committee near Khan Younis in southern Gaza, according to an Anadolu correspondent.
During the exchange, one of the captives was reportedly given an hourglass inscribed with “Time is running out” in three languages, a message directed at Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s government.
The exchange is part of the first phase of a ceasefire agreement between Hamas and Israel. As part of the deal, Israel is set to release 369 Palestinian detainees on Saturday.
