The Africa Energy Summit 2025 has commenced in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, bringing together leaders from across Africa and global organisations to tackle energy challenges on the continent.

The main goal of the summit is to provide affordable and sustainable electricity to 300 million Africans by 2030, addressing the electricity gap where 600 million people currently lack power.

The event includes discussions on accelerating energy access, promoting renewable energy, and encouraging private sector investment.

The summit is expected to produce two key outcomes: the Dar es Salaam Energy Declaration, where African governments will commit to energy sector reforms, and National Energy Compacts, which will outline country-specific strategies for achieving universal energy access.
