Former Kaduna State Governor Nasir El-Rufai arrived at the Federal High Court in Kaduna on Tuesday morning for his arraignment over alleged corruption-related offences.
El-Rufai was brought to the court around 9:00 a.m. in a Hilux vehicle and remained there for over 30 minutes before entering the courtroom at approximately 9:34 a.m.
He was dressed in a light green babanriga with a matching cap and was heavily guarded as operatives from the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) and the Department of State Services (DSS) formed a protective cordon around him.

Journalists who arrived at the court as early as 7:00 a.m. were barred from entering the courtroom by DSS operatives.
Security around the court, located at the old Nigerian Defence Academy, had been intensified from the early hours.

The team included personnel from the DSS, the Nigeria Police Force, the Mobile Police Force, and the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps.
Vehicular movement around the court was restricted, with motorists diverted to a single lane from the Ungwan Sarki axis through Kawo, causing traffic disruptions.

The arraignment follows an earlier announcement by the ICPC that El-Rufai would face charges before the Kaduna Federal High Court on March 24, 2026.
