The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Plateau State has elected new executives to manage its affairs for the next four years.
The election took place on Saturday in Jos, the state capital, during the party’s congress.
Dr David Umbugadu, Chairman of the Electoral Committee, declared 39 candidates who contested various positions as duly elected officials.
Although all candidates emerged through consensus, delegates still cast their votes to validate the process.
Umbugadu described the exercise as transparent and credible, adding that it was conducted in the presence of INEC officials and other relevant stakeholders.

“By the authority vested in me by our great party, the PDP, I hereby declare all of you elected,” he said.
In his acceptance speech, the newly elected State Chairman, Mr Raymond Dabo, pledged to serve the party with dedication and commitment.
Governor Caleb Mutfwang congratulated the new officials and urged them to unite party members and prepare for victory in the 2027 elections.
He called on the executives to reconcile differences within the party and prioritise collective interests over personal ambitions.
“Your first task is to unite the party. The era of division and exclusion is over,” Mutfwang said. “Let everyone set aside selfish interests and work for the general good of the PDP.”
