President Ramaphosa Visits World-Class Nuclear Medical Research Facility in Pretoria

President Cyril Ramaphosa on Tuesday conducted an oversight visit to the Nuclear Medicine Research Infrastructure Facility at Steve Biko Academic Hospital in Pretoria — a world-class, one-stop medical imaging centre focused on cancer and tuberculosis (TB) drug development and imaging-based clinical research.

Accompanied by Health Minister Aaron Motsoaledi, Gauteng Premier Panyaza Lesufi, and Health and Wellness MEC Nomantu Nkomo-Ralehoko, the President also toured the hospital’s cardiac catheterisation laboratory within the radiology department.

The Presidency noted that the visit underscores South Africa’s commitment to scientific innovation, equitable healthcare access, and strategic infrastructure investment.
