Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) staged a dramatic comeback to beat Tottenham Hotspur on penalties and secured the UEFA Super Cup, overturning deficits both in normal time and during the shootout.
Spurs appeared on course for silverware after goals from Micky van de Ven and Cristian Romero, on either side of halftime, gave them a commanding 2-0 lead.
However, PSG’s substitutes made the difference late on, with Lee Kang-in and Gonçalo Ramos striking in the closing stages to force a penalty shootout.

In the shootout, Tottenham went 2-0 up but could not hold on as PSG held their nerve.
Ramos, Ousmane Dembélé, Lee, and Nuno Mendes converted from the spot for the French champions, while Vitinha missed.
Spurs saw successful penalties from Dominic Solanke, Rodrigo Bentancur, and Pedro Porro, but misses from Van de Ven and Mathys Tel proved costly.
As ‘Freed From Desire’ rang out around the Stadio Friuli, PSG boss Luis Enrique celebrated with travelling supporters, while Tottenham’s players were left crestfallen at the near miss.
