Paris Saint-Germain have secured the signing of French goalkeeper Lucas Chevalier from Lille in a deal reportedly worth €40 million (£33.7 million). The 23-year-old, who has signed a contract until 2030, was unveiled on Saturday, with PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaifi welcoming him to the club and describing the move as a proud moment for the team.
Chevalier, who has been part of several France squads but has yet to make his senior debut, described the transfer as the fulfilment of a childhood dream. His standout performances for Lille in last season’s Champions League, including a 1-0 home win over Real Madrid and a 3-1 away victory against Atletico Madrid, attracted widespread attention.

While PSG enjoyed a treble-winning campaign last season, with Gianluigi Donnarumma as their first-choice goalkeeper, Chevalier’s arrival follows that of Italian-Brazilian prospect Renato Marin earlier this summer. Sources indicate that sporting director Luis Campos has assured Chevalier he will be the club’s number one.
The new signing could make his debut as early as Wednesday when PSG take on Tottenham in the European Super Cup in Udine, Italy.
