Qatar Airways has announced it will operate 29 flights to and from Doha on Thursday, March 12, 2026, after receiving “temporary authorisation” from the Qatar Civil Aviation Authority.
The airline explained that these select services are being run through limited operating corridors to assist passengers stranded by the ongoing regional travel crisis.
While these flights offer a vital link for those looking to reunite with family, the company clarified that this does not mark a full resumption of its regular commercial schedule.

The airline advised that only passengers with valid, confirmed tickets should proceed to the airport, as the flights are intended to alleviate the massive backlog of travellers impacted by recent events.
Key destinations included in this limited schedule range from London and Paris to New York and Johannesburg.
Qatar Airways expressed regret over the continued disruption, emphasising that the safety of its passengers and crew remains the absolute priority while they await a total reopening of the country’s airspace.
The disruption stems from the widespread closure of Qatari airspace following the outbreak of a major regional war on February 28, 2026.
Tensions reached a breaking point after US and Israeli strikes killed Iran’s supreme leader, leading to a cascade of retaliatory missile and drone attacks across the Middle East.
On March 9, Qatar’s Defence Ministry reported intercepting 17 missiles and six drones aimed at its territory, prompting authorities to shutter the skies as a safety precaution.
This has effectively grounded most traffic at Hamad International Airport, one of the world’s busiest transit hubs, for over a week.
