Barcelona forward Marcus Rashford has expressed his desire to remain at the club once his loan spell from Manchester United ends this summer.
Barcelona hold the option to make his move permanent for £28 million — a fee lower than the £40 million United would demand from any other club.
Although the 27-year-old’s contract with United runs until 2028, he seems unlikely to feature again for the club while Ruben Amorim remains in charge.
“For sure,” Rashford told ESPN when asked if he wanted to continue in Spain. “I’m really enjoying this club, and for anyone who loves football, Barcelona is one of the most iconic sides in the sport’s history. It’s an honour to play here.”

Rashford rejuvenated his career during a loan spell at Aston Villa under Unai Emery in the second half of last season.
He has now scored five goals in 12 appearances for Barcelona, including a brace against Olympiakos in Tuesday’s Champions League match.
As he prepares for his first El Clásico against Real Madrid this weekend, Rashford said the move had brought a refreshing change.
“People forget that I spent 23 years of my life at Manchester United. Sometimes, you just need a new environment. That might be the case for me, and I’m enjoying every bit of it.”
