Real Madrid has called for the immediate resignation of LaLiga president Javier Tebas following comments in which he compared the club’s communication methods with those associated with Joseph Goebbels, the propaganda minister of Nazi Germany.
In a statement on Friday, Real Madrid described Tebas’ remarks as “intolerable” and “extremely serious”, arguing that his clarification that he was not referring to Nazi ideology did not make the comparison acceptable.
The Spanish giants accused Tebas, who also serves as vice-president of the Royal Spanish Football Federation, of repeatedly attacking the club, its president and its media platform, Real Madrid Television.

Real Madrid also criticised Tebas over his comments on the club’s position on the Negreira case, which centres on payments Barcelona made over several years to José María Enríquez Negreira, a former vice-president of Spain’s Technical Committee of Referees.

The club said Spanish football authorities’ response to the case had been inadequate, prompting Real Madrid to approach UEFA and demand a full investigation into the payments.
Real Madrid reiterated its call for major reforms to Spain’s refereeing structure, including changes within the federation’s governing, supervisory and disciplinary bodies.
The club further accused Tebas of lacking the neutrality and impartiality required for his positions, claiming his repeated criticism of Real Madrid was incompatible with his institutional responsibilities.

Real Madrid consequently demanded that Tebas step down immediately as both LaLiga president and vice-president of the Spanish football federation.
The club said it would continue defending its institutional reputation, seek clarity on the Negreira case, and push for reforms to strengthen transparency and integrity in Spanish football.
