Afrobeat continues to capture the global spotlight, with Nigerian superstars making waves in the music industry. Recently, the genre triumphed at the Afro Nation festival in Detroit, USA.
Held on August 17-18, 2024, Afro Nation Detroit was a massive success, drawing thousands of fans to its sold-out venue. The festival featured an impressive lineup of Afrobeats artists, including Ayra Starr, Rema, Ruger, Kizz Daniel, Adekunle Gold, and Asake.
Ayra Starr wowed the audience with energetic performances of her hit singles and tracks from her latest album, The Year I Turned 21. Rema captivated fans with a dynamic set that included songs from his newly released album, HEIS. Both artists received special recognition during the festival, as they were each gifted a Detroit Pistons jersey—a nod to the city’s sports culture and a memorable keepsake from their Detroit experience.

Kizz Daniel and Adekunle Gold also delivered memorable sets, showcasing their popular songs and captivating the crowd with their dynamic performances. Asake impressed fans with a selection of his chart-topping hits, including tracks from his latest album, Lungu Boy.

The festival was set to be even more exciting with a scheduled performance by Lil Wayne. However, the rapper was unable to make it due to weather-related travel issues. Lil Wayne shared on social media that he regretted missing the event but hoped to see fans again soon.
