Ruling APC Clears Lagos LG Poll

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has won all 20 local government chairmanship positions in the LGA elections, according to the Lagos State Independent Electoral Commission (LASIEC) on Sunday.   

LASIEC’s chairperson, Bola Okikiolu-Ighile also declared APC as winner of all 37 local council development area (LCDA) chairmanship seats.

The APC secured 375 councillor positions, leaving the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) with only a single councillor seat.

Voting Begins at Sanwo-Olu’s Lagos Island Polling Unit

 Okikiolu-Ighile, announced the results at the commission’s office in Yaba, while congratulating the winners.

She urged them to view their victory as a call to serve the masses.

“This is not only a call for celebration but for service to the people who voted for them,” she said.

Lagos has 7,060,195 registered voters, 6,214,970 PVCs collected.
