Russian air strikes have killed at least nine people and injured dozens across several Ukrainian regions, local officials said on Saturday.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said Russia had launched nearly 500 drones against targets across the country.
He accused Moscow of expanding the war beyond the battlefield by targeting Ukraine’s economy and critical infrastructure.
“Russia wants to kill the Ukrainian economy and break our resistance,” Zelenskiy wrote on Telegram.
In Kramatorsk, three people were killed after Russian forces attacked private cars in three separate incidents over about 90 minutes, according to the city council.
Four others were injured in the attacks.
“These are not military targets,” the council said. “They are ordinary civilian cars. People were going about their business.”
In Zhytomyr Region, Governor Vitaliy Bunechko said two people were killed when a Russian strike hit a grocery store in Zvyahel.
He said two petrol stations and an unidentified enterprise with foreign investment were also attacked.
Two people were killed and 11 injured in attacks on Zaporizhzhia and other areas in the region, Governor Ivan Fedorov said.
Two others were killed in overnight drone and missile strikes on Kryvyi Rih, according to the city’s military administration chief, Oleksandr Vilkul.
In Odesa, Governor Oleh Kiper said nearly 40 people were injured in attacks that continued from overnight into Saturday evening.
The Russian Defence Ministry said its forces had struck Ukrainian industrial and port facilities, including a cargo ship in Odesa that it claimed was carrying military-related goods.
Russia also said it had hit the Zaporizhstal steel plant, an Interpipe Steel complex in Dnipro and industrial facilities in Kryvyi Rih.
Reuters could not independently verify the claims from either side.
Meanwhile, Ukraine said it had attacked Russia’s Togliattikauchuk synthetic rubber plant in the Samara region, causing a fire.
Russian officials confirmed drone attacks on industrial facilities in the region, while Togliatti Mayor Ilya Sukhikh said several residential buildings were damaged and one person was injured.
The latest attacks come as Russia and Ukraine continue to exchange long-range strikes against military, energy and industrial targets.
