World number one Aryna Sabalenka stormed past Madison Keys with a dominant 6-0, 6-1 victory on Friday, booking her place in the Indian Wells WTA 1000 final.
The Belarusian took just 51 minutes to dispatch the fifth-ranked American, gaining sweet revenge for her defeat in the Australian Open final earlier this year.
Determined to make amends, Sabalenka was relentless from the outset, wrapping up the first set in a blistering 23 minutes.
Keys, who entered the match on a 16-match winning streak, struggled to find any rhythm against her opponent’s powerful groundstrokes and precision.
Despite finally holding serve at 5-1 in the second set, the American had little reason to celebrate as Sabalenka quickly closed out the match.
The victory sends Sabalenka into her second Indian Wells final, where she will face Russian teenager Mirra Andreeva, who stunned defending champion Iga Swiatek in a hard-fought three-set battle.
Sabalenka will be hoping to go one better than her runner-up finish in 2023, when she lost to Elena Rybakina.
