Liverpool forward Mohamed Salah delivered a vital boost to the club on Saturday, scoring his 250th goal to help snap their recent painful slump in form.

The Egyptian forward’s crucial opening strike set the tone for a 2-0 victory against Aston Villa at Anfield, snapping a demoralising four-game losing streak in the league.

Ryan Gravenberch added the second goal, securing three points that leave Liverpool in third place, though still seven points behind the leaders.

Elsewhere, Chelsea maintained their impressive winning run against London rivals Tottenham, defeating them 1-0.
