The senator representing Kogi Central, Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, returned to the Nigerian Senate on Tuesday at 11:42 AM, taking her seat and exchanging greetings with several of her colleagues.
The legislator was joined by a small group of activists and supporters, some of whom were denied entry into the Senate gallery.
Her return comes after a court deemed her six-month suspension as overly harsh.
The Senate had previously reopened her office to facilitate her return, shortly after the National Assembly claimed that her suspension remained in effect due to ongoing legal matters.
Her comeback takes place amidst ongoing controversy related to her claims of sexual harassment against Senate President Godswill Akpabio.
During her suspension, which began on March 6, 2025, she was prohibited from accessing her office, and her security detail and allowances were revoked.
