Vice President Kashim Shettima has said the true measure of the Abuja City Walk development will not be its luxury infrastructure but its impact on people’s lives, stressing that the project is expected to drive job creation and economic growth.
Shettima made the remarks in Abuja on Thursday during the launch of the Sales Office and Experience Centre, Abuja City Walk Development, where he reaffirmed the Nigerian Government’s commitment to using land as a catalyst for development under the Renewed Hope Agenda.

“Under the Renewed Hope Agenda, we have made it clear that land is an asset for rapid development, not an instrument for developmental retrogression and speculative hoarding,” he said.
He urged the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Administration and the project’s developers, MAG International Links, to sustain the pace of implementation.
“I therefore charge the FCT administration and the partners in this project, MAG International Links, to maintain the intense momentum,” he added.
According to the Vice President, the opening of the sales office should mark the beginning of rapid physical development on the project site.
“The launch of this sales office and experience centre must translate immediately into accelerated brick-and-mortar execution on site,” he said.

While noting that the project will feature luxury residences, hotels and commercial facilities, Shettima said its greatest achievement should be measured by its benefits to Nigerians.
“Beyond the luxury residences, five-star hotels and glittering office towers, the ultimate measurement of success for the Abuja City Walk is its human impact,” he said.
He described the development as “a massive economic engine” that would create employment opportunities across multiple sectors.
“During its construction phases and pool operations, it is expected to generate tens of thousands of direct and indirect jobs for a vibrant youth population, artisans, engineers and creative minds,” he stated.
According to him, the project will also stimulate economic activity beyond the construction sector.
“It will stimulate localised supply chains from cement manufacturing to digital tech services, reinvigorating the economy of the entire FCT and surrounding states,” Shettima added.
Shettima further described the Experience Centre as an opportunity for investors to participate in Nigeria’s future growth.
“This experience centre is an invitation to be a part of Nigeria’s future,” he said.
Highlighting the country’s demographic advantage, the Vice President noted that Nigeria’s growing population places it at the centre of Africa’s development trajectory.
