A helicopter crash in western Kenya has claimed the lives of all six people on board, including a parliament member, Mheshimiwa Johana Ngeno, authorities confirmed on Sunday.
The incident occurred on Saturday in Mosop, about 300 kilometres northwest of Nairobi, according to local media reports citing police sources.
President William Ruto expressed shock and grief over the tragedy, mourning the death of Johana Ngeno, who was among the victims.
He described the late lawmaker as a committed public servant who dedicated himself to the people of Emurua Dikirr in Narok County.
”Ng’eno was a progressive and devoted servant of the people who worked tirelessly on behalf of the residents of Emurua Dikirr, Narok County,” he said while extending condolences to the families of all those who died in the crash, as well as to the affected communities in Nandi County.
