The Grammy Awards will take place on Sunday night in Los Angeles. The show is expected to bring big performances, bold fashion, emotional moments, and possibly music history.
Here are five things to expect.
1. Album of the Year Could Make History
Album of the Year is the biggest Grammy award.
None of this year’s eight nominees has ever won it before.
The nominees include Kendrick Lamar, Lady Gaga, Bad Bunny, Sabrina Carpenter, Leon Thomas, Tyler, the Creator, Clipse, and Justin Bieber.
If Kendrick Lamar wins for GNX, he would become the first male solo rapper to win Album of the Year.
If Bad Bunny wins for Debí Tirar Más Fotos, it would be the first Spanish-language album to take the top prize.
2. Song of the Year Goes Multilingual
Three Song of the Year nominees are not fully in English.
“Golden”, from the Netflix animated film K-Pop Demon Hunters, and “APT” by Rosé and Bruno Mars mix English and Korean.
If either wins, it would be the first bilingual song to win Song of the Year.
Bad Bunny’s “DTMF” is also nominated. A win would mark the first Spanish-language song to take the award.

3. Trevor Noah Hosts for the Last Time
Comedian Trevor Noah will host the Grammys for the sixth and final time.
He first hosted in 2021 during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Organisers say this will be his last year leading the show.
“His impact on the show has been truly spectacular, and we can’t wait to do it together one last time,” executive producer Ben Winston said.
4. Justin Bieber Returns to the Stage
Justin Bieber is confirmed to perform.
He is nominated for four awards, including Album of the Year for Swag, his first album in four years.
Bieber recently battled Ramsay Hunt syndrome, a rare condition that partially paralysed his face and forced him to cancel tour dates.
Lady Gaga, Sabrina Carpenter, and Clipse are also scheduled to perform.
5. New Grammy Categories Added
The Recording Academy added two new categories this year and removed one, bringing the total number of awards to 95.
A new award for best traditional country album was added.
The former “Best Country Album” category is now called “Best Contemporary Country Album.”
Another new category honours the best album cover.
“These additions further the Recording Academy’s commitment to recognising a broader spectrum of artistic craft and honouring the evolving ways music is created and experienced,” the academy says.
Two packaging categories, best recording package and best boxed or special limited edition package, were combined into a single category: the best recording package.
6. Fela Kuti Honoured With Lifetime Achievement Award
Afrobeat pioneer Fela Anikulapo Kuti will receive a Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award.
He becomes the first African artist to receive the honour.
The Recording Academy will formally recognise the Nigerian music icon at this year’s ceremony, nearly 30 years after his death, for his influence on global music and culture.

Fela’s son, Afrobeat musician Seun Kuti, said the award reflects his father’s lasting connection with audiences.
“Fela has been in the hearts of the people for such a long time,” Seun Kuti said.
“Now the Grammys have acknowledged it, and it’s a double victory. It’s bringing balance to a Fela story.”
