Anambra State Governor, Professor Chukwuma Soludo, has received three international honours at the 2025 Global Power Forum, held alongside the 80th United Nations General Assembly in New York.
According to a statement from his Press Secretary, Christian Aburime, and Senior Special Assistant on New Media, Ejimofor Opara, on Friday, Soludo was presented with the African Public Service Excellence Award, the African Governor of the Year Award, and a Certificate of Special Recognition from the House of Representatives of South Carolina, USA.
The forum, focused on Africa–Caribbean development, recognised Soludo’s leadership in public service, economic reforms, and institution-building. South Carolina lawmakers highlighted his career in academia, his tenure as Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, and his advisory roles to the Nigerian presidency.
Dignitaries at the event included former Tanzanian President Dr Jakaya Kikwete, Prime Minister Philip Davis of The Bahamas, President Sylvanie Burton of Dominica, and Democratic Republic of Congo Prime Minister Judith Suminwa Tuluka.
In his keynote address, “Africa Unleashed: Navigating the Disruptions, Enhancing Opportunities – The Anambra State Example,” Soludo detailed his government’s advances in infrastructure, digital governance and grassroots economic empowerment, positioning Anambra as a model for sustainable growth across Africa.
The Global Power Forum, an annual event held during UNGA, celebrates transformational leadership and encourages collaboration between African and Caribbean nations.
The triple recognition underscores Anambra’s growing international profile and Soludo’s reform-driven approach to governance.
