Somali’s Court of First Instance in Bosaso has sentenced two men to death over the rape and murder of a 14-year-old girl.
Mohamed Abdi Faray and Abdirahman Mohamed Isaq committed the act earlier in 2020 at the Somalia’s semi-autonomous region of Puntland.
The duo confessed to the crime after kidnapping the young girl in Bosaso city earlier this year.
In recent months there has been an increase in the number of such attacks across Somalia.
The police are currently investigating several cases, including one of a 19-year-old who was gang-raped and thrown off a six-storey building in Somalia’s capital Mogadishu in September.
Several men have been sentenced to death for rape crimes.
