South African Principal Arrested for Alleged Rape of 21-year Old Student 

A 59-year-old South African school Principal has been arrested for sleeping with a 21-year-old student.

The arrest happened on Friday in Tabankulu, Eastern Cape after other students raised alarm.

Brigadier Tembinkosi Kinana, the Police Spokesperson revealed that the matter is being investigated under the family violence, child protection and sexual offences unit.

“According to the report, the incident occurred on different occasions but was not immediately reported to the SA Police Service until schoolchildren protested against the school authorities, ” Kinana said.

“A case of rape was registered and in less than 24 hours of the report, the police arrested the suspect.”

The Principal is expected to appear in a Tabankulu Magistrate Court on Monday.
