Nigeria secured a flawless sweep of Group C on Tuesday, defeating Uganda 3-1 at Morocco’s Fez Stadium.

The victory ensures the three-time champions head into the knockout stages of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations with a maximum of nine points.

The Super Eagles took control in the 28th minute when Paul Onuachu converted a low delivery from Fisayo Dele-Bashiru.

Nigeria’s superior pace kept the Cranes on the defensive throughout the first half, but the real clinical display came after the interval.

Midfielder Raphael Onyedika was the star of the second half, netting a brace in just five minutes.

He first doubled the lead in the 62nd minute following a setup by Samuel Chukwueze, then struck again from 15 yards out after another slick attacking sequence.

Uganda, despite being down to 10 men, managed a consolation goal in the 75th minute when Mato chipped Francis Uzoho. However, the result was never in doubt.

While Nigeria finished at the summit of the table, Uganda exited the competition at the bottom of the group.
