2020 Vodafone Ghana Music Awards Billed for Three Days

The VGMA festival has been slated to hold for three days. The award which was supposed to originally hold April 14th but couldn’t because of Covid19 has now been announced to hold on 28th-30th of August.

The Vodafone Ghana music awards will start on Friday, the 28th of Friday through to Sunday, 30th of August, 2020. In which Friday, the 28th, and Saturday, the 29th will be used to celebrate the artists and their craft, and the grand finale, which will hold on the 30th of August, will be used to appreciate the frontline workers of Covid-19. They will be honoured with the VGMA Covid19 Heroes Concert, which will start by 8 pm.

The musical award holds in the bid to celebrate Ghana’s music, the act, the art and the heart of its culture as well as the artistes. It can be said to be the biggest and most significant annual entertainment event in Ghana.

The 21st edition of the Vodafone Ghana music will be filled with so fun, as we expect amazing performances from artistes like EL, Kidi, Adina, Kuame Eugene, Kofi Kinaata, Medikal, Kwesi Arthur, Akwaboah, King Promise, Eno Barony, Strongman, Celesine Donkor, Ras Kuuku, Efya, Kofi Mole, Epixode and so many more.

As a result of all that has happened this year, this year’s award will be taking a different turn as there will be no sales of ticket, and attendance will be strictly by attendance. However, everyone can still enjoy the event from the comfort of their homes through the World Wide Web. GH one always broadcasts the event live, it always shows on DSTV channel 155 and channel 110. Tv3 in Ghana, Soundcity Tv, The Base Tv, Rok Ghana on DSTV and GOTV in Africa will also be showing the award which starts by 8 pm each night. The event can also be streamed online on the MTV base and on Ghana Music Awards social media pages.

The Vodafone Ghana music award formerly known as the Ghana Music Awards was established in 2000 by Mascot to celebrate Ghanaian musicians. The awards ceremony is never complete without musical performances from Ghanaians’ finest and best artistes. The award is produced by leading event management firm;  Charterhouse and proudly supported by KPMG, DSTV, Soundcity, Media partners, TV3. This year’s nominees consists some of Ghana’s most talented artists, and even their upcoming artistes. The category includes that of; African Artiste of the Year, Artiste of the year, International collaboration of the year, Best new artist of the year, Best rapper of the year, Album of the year, Best group of the year, Male vocalist of the year, Female vocalist of the year, Record of the Year, Instrumentalist of the year, Hiplife/ Hip hop Artiste of the year, Gospel Artiste of the year, Best video of the year, Reggae/ Dancehall Artiste of the year, Vodafone most popular song of the year, the best collaboration of the year, Hip hop song of the year, Afrobeat song of the year, Hiplife song of the year, Highlife song of the year.
