Thousands of pro-Palestinian demonstrators marched through central London on Saturday, February 15, 2025, to protest against US President Donald Trump’s controversial proposal to “take over” Gaza.
The demonstrators, waving Palestinian flags and holding placards with slogans like “Hands off Gaza,” walked from Whitehall in Westminster to the US embassy in Nine Elms.
Earlier this month, Trump sparked global outrage when he suggested that the US could redevelop Gaza into the “Riviera of the Middle East,” proposing the resettlement of Palestinians elsewhere with no plan for their return. The idea has been widely condemned by both Western leaders and the Arab world.

Protesters carried banners reading “Stand up to Trump” and “Mr Trump, Canada is not your 51st state. Gaza is not your 52nd.”
Holocaust survivor Stephen Kapos, 87, described the proposal as completely immoral and illegal, stressing the impracticality and harm of such a plan.
The march, organised by the Palestine Solidarity Campaign (PSC), marked the 24th major pro-Palestinian protest in London since Hamas’s attack on Israel in October 2023.
A heavy police presence was deployed to separate the demonstrators from a counter-march, “Stop the Hate,” which featured participants waving Israeli flags.
