Nigerian pop artist David Adeleke, widely known as Davido, has earned a Silver Certification in the United Kingdom for his fourth studio album, “Timeless.” This recognition comes after the project surpassed 100,000 unit sales in the UK.
According to Chart Data, a music analytics platform, the certification acknowledges “Timeless'” significant commercial success in the UK market since its release on March 31, 2023.
The 17-track album blends Afrobeats with elements of dancehall, reggae, konto, highlife, and Afropop. It features collaborations with notable artists such as Asake, Skepta, Dexta Daps, Angelique Kidjo, Cavemen, and Fave.
Beyond its commercial performance, “Timeless” has garnered critical acclaim and industry recognition. It earned Davido a Grammy nomination for Best Global Album, while its prominent track “Unavailable” was nominated for Best African Song Performance. Another song from the album, “Feel,” received a nomination for Best Global Song Performance.
Notably, “Unavailable” has also been certified Silver in the UK, marking another achievement for the singer in a highly competitive global music market.
Davido promoted the album through his “Timeless Tour,” which included performances in major cities across North America and Europe, such as Washington D.C., New York, Toronto, and London. The album previously set new streaming records on platforms like Spotify Nigeria, Boomplay, Audiomack, and YouTube.
