President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Sunday, July 20, 2025, arrived in Ogun State for the eighth-day Fidau prayer in honour of the late Awujale of Ijebuland, Oba Dr. Sikiru Adetona.
The Awujale passed away last Sunday at the age of 91 and was buried on Monday according to Islamic rites.
President Tinubu, accompanied by his wife, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, was received at the Gateway International Airport, Iperu, by Ogun State Governor, Dapo Abiodun.
Present at the prayer ceremony were the widow of the late monarch, Olori Oluwakemi Adetona, alongside Olori Modupe Adetona and Aboderin Adetona.
Also in attendance were the Chairman of the Nigeria Governors’ Forum and Governor of Kwara State, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, as well as other South-West governors.
The Fidau prayer is being held at the Dipo Dina International Stadium in Ijebu-Ode.
