Daniel Bwala, Special Adviser to President Bola Tinubu on Policy Communication, has declared that the administration has delivered on its primary promise of ensuring national security.
Speaking on Politics Today on Channels Television on Wednesday, Bwala claimed that Nigeria has witnessed a marked improvement in security under Tinubu’s leadership.
“He made promises in electricity, but the key promise is the protection of life and the welfare of the people. That’s what we’ve seen improvements in,” he said.
Bwala pointed to reduced violence in states like Benue and Plateau and a drop in attacks by unknown gunmen and separatists in the South-East. He argued that Nigeria is now safer than it was in 2022 and 2023.

“Security challenges have largely been downgraded. What we are seeing now are criminal acts that are not directly tied to governance performance. These sorts of crimes happen globally,” he added.
On the economy, Bwala said Nigeria is steadily recovering and claimed that state governors are benefitting from increased federal revenue under Tinubu’s administration.
He also dismissed the opposition coalition as irrelevant, accusing its leaders of hijacking the African Democratic Congress (ADC) out of desperation for a political platform.
