Members of the Lagos State House of Assembly met with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu at the Presidential Villa in Abuja on Wednesday, despite ongoing leadership tensions in the state legislature.
The lawmakers, who arrived in two coaster buses, were seen entering the President’s office area ahead of the meeting.
Notably, both reinstated Speaker Mudashiru Obasa and ousted Speaker Mojisola Meranda were present.
While Meranda arrived with her colleagues around 2 p.m., Obasa arrived separately at about 2:50 p.m.
Although details of the meeting were not immediately disclosed, it is believed to be connected to the recent leadership crisis in the Lagos Assembly.
Obasa was impeached as Speaker by a majority of lawmakers but was later reinstated following intervention from political leaders, including the Governor’s Advisory Council (GAC).
Despite his reinstatement, tensions reportedly remain high among lawmakers, with divisions lingering over the impeachment episode.
