Nigeria’s President Bola Tinubu has expressed his condolences for the loss of Somtochukwu Christelle Maduagwu, a news anchor and producer at Arise Television.
Maduagwu was tragically killed on Sunday during an armed robbery at her home in the Katampe area of Abuja.
In a statement released on Tuesday by Bayo Onanuga, his special adviser on information and strategy, Tinubu said that he learned of Maduagwu’s death with “deep sorrow.”

“Ms Maduagwu was a promising professional journalist whose life was cut short in a cruel and condemnable manner,” Tinubu said.
“Security and law enforcement agencies should conduct a quick and thorough investigation into the incident and ensure that the perpetrators are apprehended and brought to justice without delay.”
While extending his sympathies to the grieving family, Tinubu reassured Nigerians that his government is dedicated to ensuring the safety and security of all citizens and will continue to enhance efforts to fight crime in all its forms
