Tinubu Risks Re-Election with Sparse Project Funding– Enang

Senator Ita Enang, a former lawmaker in Nigeria’s 7th National Assembly, has criticised the 2025 budget, stating it may leave President Bola Tinubu with little to showcase for re-election campaigns in 2027.

Speaking on Inside Sources on Channels Television, Enang expressed concern over insufficient allocations to critical sectors, saying, “It is incapable of giving Mr President projects to commission in 2026.”

The ₦49.7tn budget proposal, presented on December 18, 2024, has faced scrutiny for its low revenue generation and mobilisation. Enang urged prioritisation of milestone projects in key sectors to ensure measurable progress.

He warned that, without adjustments, the budget might leave Tinubu reliant on state-level projects for campaign leverage.
