President Bola Tinubu has called on Nigerians to uphold unity, religious tolerance, and peaceful coexistence, assuring citizens that his administration remains committed to safeguarding the rights and security of all people, regardless of faith.
In his 2025 Christmas goodwill message released on Wednesday, December 24, the president conveyed warm wishes to Christians in Nigeria and across the world.
He described Christmas as a season for reflecting on the birth of Jesus Christ and His message of peace, love, and hope.
Tinubu stressed that Christmas goes beyond celebration, noting that Christ’s message as the Prince of Peace carries special relevance amid the nation’s present challenges.
He reaffirmed his government’s resolve to protect religious freedom and to shield people of all beliefs from violence.

He thanked God for the opportunity to serve the nation and prayed for peace, particularly among Nigerians of different faiths.
The president also acknowledged the significant contributions Christians continue to make to Nigeria’s development, inspired by Christ’s love and the teachings of the Gospel.
Reiterating his focus on national unity, security and stability, Tinubu said every Nigerian has the right to live, worship, and pursue their aspirations in safety and dignity.
He emphasised that no citizen should suffer discrimination or violence based on ethnicity or religion, adding that devotion to God and service to humanity unite all faiths.
The president disclosed that he has engaged consistently with leaders of Nigeria’s two major religions, especially on issues of insecurity and intolerance, and said the Nigerian government would build on these discussions to deepen cooperation, prevent conflict, and promote peaceful coexistence.
As Nigerians travel for the festive season, Tinubu urged motorists to exercise patience and discipline on the roads and wished travellers safe journeys.
He expressed confidence that, with faith and collective effort, the nation would continue building a stronger Nigeria for future generations, while wishing citizens a Merry Christmas and a happy New Year in advance.
