Ekiti State Governor, Biodun Oyebanji, has commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his transformative initiatives, stating that they have empowered state governments to drive meaningful progress.
Governor Oyebanji credited the President’s policies for enabling his administration to achieve significant milestones in Ekiti State.
He made these remarks on Sunday during the Silverbird Man of the Year Awards at Eko Hotel and Suites, Victoria Island, Lagos, where he was honoured with the prestigious award for his exceptional contributions to national advancement.
“The award I receive today is dedicated to God Almighty and also to the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Asiwaju Ahmed Tinubu whose policies free resources to sub-nationals to implement their programmes and we are extremely grateful”, he said.

Accompanied to the stage by former Ekiti State Governors—Otunba Niyi Adebayo, Dr Ayodele Fayose, Engr Segun Oni, and Dr Kayode Fayemi—as well as Senate Leader, Senator Opeyemi Bamidele, and other distinguished personalities, Oyebanji expressed appreciation for the reforms that have provided states with crucial resources to execute developmental initiatives and deliver democratic benefits to the people.
“Today’s award is about the people, some of them are here with me, some in Ekiti State, some in the Diaspora, friends of our government that have stood by us, chief among them are the former Governors, Senate Leader, National and State Assembly members, Exco members and our corporate friends that have been supporting us to deliver on out promises to Ekiti people, this award goes to you…” the Governor said.

He extended gratitude to the founder and management of the Silverbird Group for the nomination and to Nigerians for their votes, pledging to uphold quality leadership and impactful governance.
Silverbird Group founder, Senator Ben Murray-Bruce, praised Oyebanji’s leadership, noting that the presence of past Governors signified his broad acceptance.
Other awardees included Lagos Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, Enugu Governor Dr Peter Mbah, and Minister of Works Engr David Umahi.
